Memorial – Dan Ness

It is with great sadness that we announce the recent loss of a dear friend, co-worker and board member of Alexandria Industries. H. Dan Ness (78) passed away peacefully in his home in the presence of his family.

Dan previously served as Alexandria Industries' chief financial officer, and up until his death, he was a highly valued member of our Board of Directors.

Dan made it his mission to serve his community. He was the mayor of Alexandria, president of the League of Minnesota Cities, president of the Minnesota Mayors Association and president of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities. He also volunteered his services at the Alexandria Fire Department and countless nonprofit organizations. In his younger years, Dan was a member of the Air Force Reserve and the Minnesota Air National Guard.

He sang in his church choir, loved to travel, fish and hunt. He was a wonderful man, and a true partner, as he cared deeply about life and those around him.
