A Champion in Education
Alexandria Industries congratulates Al Sholts, recipient of the Alexandria, Minn., School District 206, A Champion in Education (ACE) Award! The ACE award recognizes individuals who support public education through advocacy, partnership, service or donation of resources.
“Champions” are selected for making a significant, positive impact on the students of Alexandria Public Schools.
According to Alexandria School Board Vice Chair Dave Anderson, “Al has been a key player in developing the Engineering Manufacturing Technologies and Natural Resources Academy at Alexandria Area High School”. His experience with overseeing the lab development has been invaluable in helping to shape the Academies of Alexandria’s high school model.
Al played a critical role in fundraising for equipment, materials, student field trips, and teacher externships for the new Academy.
