"When I was in college and working part-time in retail, a fellow student told me about his job working in manufacturing. He said his employer, Alexandria Industries, was great about being flexible and working around his school schedule. I did my homework and realized I could advance my career much more quickly!

I began working as a machine operator. I tried different areas and roles before finally choosing to specialize in tooling. In a few short years, I've gone from being a new employee to being a lead supervisor, overseeing and ensuring our manufacturing equipment is running properly. The decision to attend school at the Alexandria Technical and Community College in Alexandria, Minn., and live in Alexandria, was easy. Brad knew the tech school's mechanics program was well regarded and had a great reputation. He also had fond memories vacationing in the area when he was a child that made him believe he would fit in well here.
Working at Alexandria Industries, Brad is exposed to many different areas of manufacturing than he ever knew existed, giving him countless opportunities to grow his career.
Brad gives back to the community by taking advantage of the company's paid time off to volunteer with local non-profit organizations. He has also stayed connected with the tech college as an adjunct instructor, teaching students about machine programming. Brad knows without a doubt he made the best choice for his life and his livelihood by relocating to Alexandria.
