Ron Ballman brings more than three decades of experience in the aluminum industry to his role as a Plant Manager at Alexandria Industries. Since beginning his career in 1992, Ron has developed a broad understanding of manufacturing operations, leadership, and continuous improvement through a variety of industry roles and experiences. His extensive background provides valuable insight into both the technical and operational aspects of running a successful manufacturing facility.
One of the most unique aspects of Ron’s career was owning and operating his own extrusion plant in Alabama from 2014 to 2019. This experience provided him with firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities involved in managing a manufacturing operation. From overseeing day-to-day production activities to supporting long-term business objectives, Ron gained a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to build strong teams, maintain operational excellence, and deliver value to customers.
Ron believes that learning is a lifelong pursuit and has consistently invested in his personal and professional development throughout his career. In 2017, he earned his Global Organizational Leadership degree from MIT, further strengthening his understanding of leadership, organizational effectiveness, and team development. He also holds a degree in Business Administration and Operations Management from Indiana Tech, providing a strong foundation in business strategy and operational management.
Throughout his career, Ron has valued the importance of building strong relationships, supporting employees, and creating an environment where people can succeed. He believes that strong leadership begins with trust, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience, Ron understands that lasting success is achieved when employees are empowered to grow, work together, and take pride in what they accomplish.
When he is away from the plant, Ron enjoys spending time restoring and working on classic cars, a hobby that allows him to combine his appreciation for craftsmanship, problem-solving, and attention to detail. He also enjoys staying active and making time for fitness whenever possible.
Most importantly, Ron values the time he spends with his grandchildren and family. He is a person of strong faith and believes in the importance of serving others, building meaningful relationships, and maintaining a positive impact on his community. These values have remained a constant throughout both his personal life and professional career.
