Do You Relay For Life?

FUN-raising!

Visit Alexandria Industries on any Friday from January 1 to June 30, and you will see many of our employees enjoying "casual day," wearing jeans. This comfort comes at a small cost – $2.00 – for each employee who wears jeans to work. Who would believe that this small donation could add up to more than $3,300 in fundraising?

Since 2006, Alexandria Industries has held the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life fundraising initiative with the utmost importance by designating the first half of each year to raise money for this worthy cause. In 2013, our employees donated $17,084.44 to the Douglas County Minnesota Relay For Life campaign, and we are on track to reach our goal of raising $17,500 in 2014.

Casual days are just one way we raise money for such an important cause. Another great event is an ice fishing tournament. In February, we hosted our 8th annual fishing challenge, which has grown in participants and funds raised every year. The 539 participants, and 129 children under 12, contributed a whopping $11,000 this year. Adding to this was another cool fundraising event – the Ham and Turkey Bingo – held in March, where we had 200 participants and raised $3,196.

If you feel a calling to contribute to this great organization, please find a location close to you, by visiting www.relayforlife.org. Or you can contact us and we will gladly add your contribution to our donation.

As an organization, we oftentimes give to the communities we reside in, but the majority of our contributions to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life come directly from our employees and their families. We have a great group of employees who step up to organize events, making a huge difference in the lives of others.
