Investing in the Future

Alexandria Industries continues to make ongoing investments that will further enhance our capabilities, so we can provide our customers with high quality products and additional services.

Our most recent venture included constructing a work area specifically designed for our newly created Quick Response Office Cell (Q-ROC) team at our MidAmerica facility in Indianapolis. The co-located team is now implementing Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principles to create operational and process improvements, while significantly reducing order lead-times. We also installed new aluminum extrusion press handling system covers and a Kevlar run-out table that enables us to better protect your products' critical surfaces.

This year, we are preparing for $3.5 million in additional capital equipment upgrades that will be implemented in early May at our MidAmerica facility. The extrusion press upgrades include the installation of a new log furnace, shear, and puller line. We will also upgrade to a short stroke press. These improvements will enable us to run longer aluminum billets and increase production and process repeatability.

The MidAmerica upgrades will require us to shut down our extrusion press for approximately 10-14 days. To accommodate our customer orders and avoid production delays, we are adjusting our work schedules and adding weekend shifts at this facility.

For customers who will be directly affected, we will be working closely with you to address your needs and make special arrangements to ensure timely delivery of your product orders.
